Fair in the Square and Celebrating our Heritage
Friday, 31 October 2025

Old Andreans, Hessians and former staff returned in great numbers for the Celebrating Our Heritage Pop-Up Museum, held in the Heath Centre across Friday 19 and Saturday 20 September. Nearly 100 alumni visited over the two days, from the Class of 1958 through to the Class of 2025, along with current families and staff. Among them it was particularly great to see Melissa Wilson (OA2000), our first female School Captain, who came with her three children. Here you can see a photo of her posing next to her old school uniform that was on display. The legendary Ken Pratt, TAS teacher and football coach from 1990 to 2020, also came along which was brilliant to see.

The Museum offered a fascinating look back through 140 years of our history, featuring photos, videos, artefacts and stories from across the decades. Every current student visited the museum, with many delighting in the challenge of "see how many Mr Boddy's you can find" (the answer: 98).

On the same day, in the glorious sunshine, the School hosted the Fair in the Square, the first since 2015 when the event was known as Carnevale. The day brought together every part of the School community for rides, games, live music, food stalls and the ever-popular Dunk Tank. The atmosphere was electric, with volunteers everywhere - setting up stalls, running games and keeping the day flowing with typical SACS spirit. The OAA was a major sponsor of the event, and for this we are extremely grateful

The current Year 12 cohort also completed their Seven Bridges Walk on the same day and were able to finish the walk through the new celebratory arch donated by the OAA.

Both the Museum and the Fair reflected the same spirit – connection across generations, pride in our history, and a shared enjoyment of being part of this community.
