Full steam ahead on the OAA Council
Friday, 14 June 2024

This term has been a busy one for the OAA Council, the council has been full steam ahead with several meetings, events and initiatives on the go. Here is a rundown of some of the work the council has been doing.

They continued their regular meetings with the Head of School to provide her with updates and to hear about the latest School developments.

They hosted the five-year reunion in May and began planning for the ten, twenty and thirty-year reunions in the second half of the year.

A new batch of OAA badges for distribution at alumni events has been ordered, these have proven extremely popular with Old Andreans who receive a bronze badge after ten years, a silver after twenty, gold after thirty and a diamond one after forty years.

The council has been instrumental in financing the prize for the winner of the Lost Alumni Campaign. The promise of a $1000 gift card has led to nearly 500 Old Andreans updating their contact details with the School. This will prove invaluable ahead of our 140th anniversary next year.

The council has also agreed to donate a replacement Kingsford Smith Shield - the premium prize at ECAP - as the current one is now full after more than 80 years. They also approved the financing of a brand-new Music initiative which will combine Old Andrean and student performances in an exciting ongoing chamber music series – watch this space for more details.

Despite all of this, the OAA still have a few vacancies on the council which they would love to fill. Please reach out if you are interested in coming along to a future meeting. You can send us a message on our social media accounts, or email alumni@sacs.nsw.edu.au

We love hearing from YOU
