Career and Networking Evening - Thurs 12th June

We are currently seeking EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST from Old Andreans and Hessians of all ages and experiences and to participate in Learning the Ropes: in conversation with industry professionals. 

This is a flagship event produced by the OAA every second year. Industry professionals selected share their work experience and expertise in their chosen career with our senior students, their parents and carers and younger graduates. 

LEARNING THE ROPES will be held on Thursday 12 June from 6.00pm–8.30pm in Chapter House and St Andrew's House. volunteers will be invited to a light supper at 5.00pm before the event commences, and to refreshments following. 

This careers event is about conversations with students and Old Andreans - what your pathway was like, the best and worst parts of your current job, whether you have changed professions, what pitfalls you have faced, what is your best tip - in fact what you wish you had known when you first started out. 

We are looking for a wide range of industry professionals, from university students and recent graduates, all the way through to experienced professionals. Learning the Ropes open to 2023 and 2024 graduates 

You may remember attending Learning the Ropes as a student at SACS. Perhaps then you didn't have a firm idea of what you would like to do when you left school, or perhaps you've started something and don't think it is going to be right for you. You are invited to attend Learning the Ropes as an Old Andrean. You can talk to Industry Professionals to get a clearer idea of the direction you are heading or just take the opportunity to network with professionals in the area you have chosen.
