It is with regret that we record the passing of members of our Old Andrean community. We remember their contributions to the life of the School and offer our condolences to their families and loved ones.

John Martin (OA1968) 21 June 2025

John Kingsley Martin (Class of 1968) passed away on 21 June at his home in Salisbury, UK. John was a student at St Andrew's Cathedral School from Term 1, 1965 to Term 3, 1968. He came to St Andrew's from Bogan Gate in the Central West of NSW, where his parents ran a sheep and wheat farm. He boarded in Sydney during term time and returned home for the holidays.

John excelled in both cricket and rugby, serving as captain of the First XI cricket and First XV rugby teams. He was an active member of the Inter-School Christian Fellowship (ISCF) and served on its committee. In his final year, he was appointed a school prefect and House Captain of Canterbury House.

A highly respected member of his class, John's quiet demeanour endeared him to students and staff alike. The words "a Christian gentleman" are recorded in School history as an apt description of his character. After leaving Sydney in the early 1970s, John moved to the United Kingdom, where he became editor of several Anglican publications, notably for the Mothers' Union and the Church Missionary Society (CMS). He lived initially in London and, in later years, in Salisbury. His funeral was held at Salisbury Cathedral. We extend our condolences to John's widow, Deidre, his brother Lloyd (also an Old Andrean), and his sister.

Charles Morgan (OA1967), Dux of School in his final year, passed away on 26 June 2025. Charles was a distinguished student and is remembered for his academic excellence. A donation to Gawura was made in his name. We offer our sympathies to those who knew Charles and mourn his passing.

Peter Wallace (OA2017) June 2025

Peter Wallace (OA2017) passed away in June 2025. We remember Peter as a valued member of the Old Andrean community. His passing is mourned by those who knew him during his time at the School and beyond.
